D1 - Description
D1 is Seattle Volleyball Club's most skilled divisions. D1 is Seattle Volleyball Club's most skilled division, with players who compete in NAGVA's and USA Volleyball's AA & A divisions. D1 players have advanced volleyball abilities and compete at the highest level.
D1 teams have no limitations on Team composition. Because of safety concerns, SVC players with a rating of less than 9 are not allowed to participate in Division 1.
D1 - Season & Tournament PlayoffD1 competes weekly on Tuesday nights at the Yesler Community Center from 7:30 - 10pm. The 4 D1 teams play 8 weeks in a Round Robin format, playing each other once per week. Matches consist of 2 games to 25, with a 27 point cap. D1 will hold it's end of season Divisional Tournament on either Tuesday, April 5th @ the Yesler Community Center, or Saturday, April 2nd at the Rainier Community Center. The D1 teams will be be seeded into a Double Elimination tournament bracket based on the final regular season standings. Seedings will be based on overall Wins & Losses with, Point Win % as the tiebreaker. All league members are encouraged to attend the D1 Playoff Tournament. |

D2 - Description
D2 teams may not have a player holding an SVC rating higher than a 19 or NAGVA A, whichever is higher. D2 teams are expected to maintain a roster with at least 3 of their players holding at least an SVC rating of 12 or NAGVA BB, and no player with an SVC rating of less than a 6.
D2 teams should have demonstrated Ball Control ability, passing & setting. Participation in this division is at the discretion of the Competition Manager with final approval by the SVC Director.
D2 - Season & Tournament PlayoffD2 competes weekly on Wednesday nights at the Rainier Community Center from 7:30-10:30pm. The D2 teams play a 10 week modified regular season schedule, with the last 2 weeks of competition broken out into a 5 team grouping. Matches consist of 2 games to 21, with a 23 point cap. D2 will hold it's end of season Divisional Tournament on Saturday, April 2nd 4th @ the Rainier Community Center along with Divisions 3 and 4. The D2 teams will be be seeded into a Double Elimination tournament bracket based on the final regular season standings. Divisional tournament seedings will be based on overall Wins & Losses from weeks 1 thru 8, combined with results from the seeded play of weeks 9 & 11. Teams will be re-grouped after week 8 into two groups. Group A consists of 1st thru 5th places, Group B consists of 6th thru 10th places. Each group team is then scheduled to play all teams in their group 1 additional time. Teams have the opportunity to improve their divisional tournament seeding within their group only, combining results from weeks 1 thru 8 with their inter-group results. Group A teams will be seeded into the Divisional Tournament 1st thru 5th, and Group B teams will be seeded 6th thru 10th. D3 Standings as of March 20th!The last 2 weeks of the Winter 2012 Season in Division 3 are made up of a mini round robin of the 1st thru 5th seeds, and the 6th thru 10 seeds. Final seeding into the W'12 League Championship tournament will be determined by combining the results of weeks 1 thru 9, and weeks 10 & 11. D3 competes weekly on Wednesday nights at the Rainier Community Center from 7:30-10pm. The D3 teams play 11 weeks in a Round Robin format. Matches consist of 2 games to 21, with a 23 point cap.
D3 will hold it's end of season Divisional Tournament on Saturday, April 2nd @ the Rainier Community Center. The D3 teams will be be seeded into a Double Elimination tournament bracket based on the final regular season standings. Seedings will be based on overall Wins & Losses.
All tiebreakers will be Point Win %, calculated with the following formula: Points Won / (Points Won + Points Lost)
D3 - Description
D3 teams may not have any player rated higher than an SVC 11, or NAGVA B, whichever is higher. D3 teams are expected to maintain a roster with at least 3 of their players holding an SVC rating of an 8 or better. Teams in D3 are expected to play at a level similar to that of NAGVA B, where the team has a structured offensive strategy and utilizes all 3 allotted touches during a rally.
D3 is defined as a skill learning/developmental division made up of players who have limited applied volleyball skills, or are not playing at the intermediate level in 2 or more of volleyball’s basic skills: Blocking, Passing/Defense, Setting or Hitting.

D4 - DescriptionD4 is SVC’s Novice or Beginner’s division. If you are not certain which division would best suit your volleyball abilities, please see the Volleyball Experience matrix below. It is SVC’s intent that each division compete separately during the regular season and playoffs, however, it may be necessary to have a combined regular season due to enrollment.
D4 teams may have only 1 player with a rating higher than an SVC 7, and not to exceed an 8. Participation in D4 is at the discretion of the SVC Director. D4 is defined as a recreational division made up of beginner/novice level players. D4 players may have very limited experience playing volleyball and are not yet able to perform ball control skills at the NAGVA B level.
